Kruisvallei Hydro Plant Supports Education in Clarens with Classroom Furniture Donation

As part of its ongoing community development initiatives, the Kruisvallei Hydro Plant has donated 220 school chairs and classroom desks to Moriting wa Thuto Secondary School in Clarens, Free State.

This contribution marks a meaningful step towards creating a more conducive learning environment for the school’s 470 learners who have, for years, endured a shortage of classroom furniture.

The initiative forms part of Kruisvallei Hydro Plant’s Socio-Economic Development (SED) programme, which focuses on uplifting and empowering communities surrounding the project. This donation represents the first phase of a three-year, holistic school development project designed to address both the immediate and long-term needs of Moriting wa Thuto Secondary School.

The objective of this initiative is to implement a comprehensive school improvement plan that focuses on the rehabilitation and upgrading of the school’s infrastructure and the provision of essential educational resources to enhance the teaching and learning experience.

Through this multi-year partnership, Kruisvallei Hydro Power aims to ensure that Moriting wa Thuto Secondary School becomes a better-equipped, safer, and more inspiring environment for both learners and educators.

The donation of classroom furniture marks the beginning of a broader journey towards sustainable educational development — reaffirming the project company’s commitment to empowering local communities and supporting long-term social progress in the Clarens area.
